A remotely accessible Tuple database, implemented in Java using RMI remote objects. Mostly a proof of concept.
It was written as a team project, and tested on Java 17. There is no main class: the examples to run are in three packages, a prime numbers example, and a basic and an improved text search.
Known issues
- The improved text search cannot use several searchers at once: doing so ends in a deadlock, which was traced to the centralised implementation but never fixed.
- Stopping the server calls System.exit, which shuts down the whole process instead of only the server-side threads. Disabling the server timeout avoids it.
