La Somone
Senegal
Tired of Dakar’s noise, pollution, and high prices, I decided to head south in search of quieter, more affordable towns where I could rest while waiting for my flight.
La Somone and Saly are lovely places, popular with French visitors (mostly retirees) who spend at least half the year here. Hitchhiking between the two was surprisingly easy!
The beaches are beautiful, but restaurants and accommodations aren’t cheap, so I’ll be heading further south tomorrow in search of better options.
Managed to hitchhike all the way to Mbour! The town's nice, but the beach... wow, it's basically a giant plastic wasteland 😭
No swimming for me...
The town itself isn't that exciting, but I did stumble across a great restaurant serving insanely cheesy burgers and shawarmas!
