Jutaí
Brazil
A 12-hour stop in this small town on the Amazon River, spent exploring the surroundings and buying fruits and drinks for the rest of the trip.
I didn’t know it yet, but because our ship was transporting a lot of cargo, these stops would become frequent after Jutaí, sometimes lasting 10 to 15 hours.
The Voyager V is not your conventional river transport vessel: it carries goods that are sold directly upon arrival at each port, which explains why the process was so slow.
Still, the food onboard was great, and having the chance to rest in a hammock all day during these breaks turned out to be surprisingly enjoyable.
