Coca
Ecuador
After all this time cruising through the Amazon, Coca is the first city with a road connection to the west coast!
This is where my boating journey ends, and to be fair, I do not mind.
The slow boat from the border to here was actually quite uncomfortable: I expected a large cargo ship like in Peru or Brazil, but here it is more like a bigger, slightly slower version of the fast boats, with only seating, no terrace, few amenities and certainly no standing space.
I did regret choosing that option, but I guess you learn from your mistakes!
The town itself does not have any extraordinary points of interest, but it is still interesting to explore since it gives an authentic glimpse of the Ecuadorian lifestyle.
