After about two hours of riding through city buses and the subway, we finally made it to the "middle of the world," a tourist attraction north of Quito, located on the equator (to be precise, it is slightly off, but it's the thought that counts).
The park includes several artisanal shops highlighting local crafts from different regions of Ecuador, as well as some surprisingly inexpensive restaurants.
I’d say it is a good spot to cross off your bucket list, but a little overrated since there is very little to see around the park itself. It is, however, not very expensive and rather calm during the week.
