Cabo Pantoja
Peru
After a full day of high-speed navigation on the Napo, we finally arrive at our last stop: Cabo Pantoja!
I have to admit, I don't think I've ever been to such a remote place in my life. There is no connection to the outside world other than the river—no electricity, no wired internet, and just a few small roads, all ending a couple of kilometres into the jungle.
When we disembark, it's already night, and the hostel where I'm staying doesn’t have a generator, so everything is lit with candles. Quite a vibe!
Even finding a restaurant proves challenging since most people cook for themselves, but I managed to get my hands on some bread and a can of fish 🐟
I did oversleep in the morning and missed the boats leaving around 6:00 a.m. for Nuevo Rocafuerte, but luckily I found a backup plan leaving around 2:00 p.m., giving me time to explore the town and grab some breakfast with my host 🥞
