Skopje
North Macedonia
A beautiful city, distinguished by its abundant neoclassical statues dispersed throughout the city centre. This unique combination gives the town a truly original character: Ancient Greek bronze sculptures stand proudly before stark brutalist buildings, with mosques rising in the background and monumental government edifices completing the scene.
The bazaar was a particular delight, feeling like one of the most authentic in the Balkans. It offers a subtle and captivating blend of the oriental charm of a traditional souk with the practical layout of a western-style flea market.
