Mostar
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Mostar is the first real pickle in this trip. I managed to find a last minute, rather expensive room in a nice residential area, but it is only available for one night, and since I plan on taking the morning train to Sarajevo, I must stay until the 31st.
This is the beginning of a long crawl under 40+ degrees of heat, a torrid sun, and with very little rest, to find an affordable accommodation. The excessive amount of tourists in this little town has completely saturated its hosting capacity, especially for backpackers.
Luckily, thanks to a local bartender whom Lies (one of the travellers I met earlier in Dubrovnik) and I befriended over a cocktail, I manage to get a hold of a nice hostel, where a no-show has freed up a spot.
I won’t have to sleep outside today, but Sarajevo will pose an even bigger challenge, as I’m about to realise.
